Sprint Announced The Samsung Galaxy Nexus And LG Viper 4GLTE Smartphones

 

Sprint announced their 4GLTE plans late last year. The cellular company hasn’t announced any phones that will run on their 4G LTE network until this years CES were they announced the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the LG Viper 4G LTE.

Sprints 4GLTE Network Gets 40MBps Download Speeds

While Sprint has announced the launch of their 4G LTE network last week. A YouTube subscriber based in Texas who goes by the name “TheComputerMaster”, has had a chance to test-drive Sprints 4GLTE network. The users goes through a few speed test websites, and manages to get between 30 MBps & 40 MBps download speeds. Now, since Sprints 4GLTE has just been announced it's easy to expect download speeds this fast since the network has not been fully launched.  But check out the video, and see how fast Sprints 4GLTE is.

Galaxy Nexus Coming To Sprint's 4G LTE Network

 

 

While the Galaxy Nexus may be one of the most sought after Android handsets, it’s currently only available from Verizon Wireless which, according to Engadget that could change. A picture of the Galaxy Nexus has been leaked out for Sprint.  According to the leaked image the handset could support Sprint’s 4G LTE network. The handset will also have a 4.56-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, 1080p camcorder and a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. The handset will also run Android 4.0 ( Ice Cream Sandwich) which will give users a cleaner more improved user interface as well a new unlocking system that uses facial recognition. The Sprint version of the handset seems to have a faster processor than it’s Verizon Wireless or HSPA+ counter parts, which are clocked, at 1.2GHz. For those of you that want to buy the handset unlocked for use on T-Mobile US or AT&T it won’t be cheap.  The unlocked version of the Galaxy Nexus is expected to cost $649.99 for the 16GB version on Amazon.com

Sprint Plans To Lauch Their 4G LTE Network In Select Markets In 2012

While Verizon Wireless started moving to LTE last year, Sprint is soon to follow suite.

 

Sprint’s CEO Dan Hesse announced yesterday at Citigroup Entertainment, Media and Telecommunications Conference that Sprint would launch their 4G LTE network. The lucky markets to be able to take advantage of Sprints 4G LTE network are Dallas, Atlanta, Huston and San Antonio by mid 2012. Having LTE (long term evolution) will allows consumers to reach faster data speeds when downloading applications or surfing the web on handsets that are capable of running on LTE. The cellular company also announced their Sprint Network Vision platform, where the company will introduce more base stations across Sprints cellular sites across the country. This will give consumers improved voice quaintly, signal strength as well as data speeds.

Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch Comes In White To Sprint On January 8Th.

If you’re a fan of white smartphones and are on Sprint’s network than the white Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch is your kind of phone.

 

Today on Sprint Community webpage announced the white version of the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G which will have an 8.0-megapixel camera, 1080p camcorder, a 2.0-megapixel front-facing camera, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal memory, 4.52-inch Super AMOLED touch screen, Wi-Fi and GPS. The handset will run Android 2.3.4, and will support Sprints 3G and 4G networks. It’s pretty much the same as the black Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G Touch, and will be available on January 8th for $199.99 with a two-year contract.
