Nexus One not coming to Verizon Wireless.

Google updated its phone sales site yesterday and apparently the Nexus One is not coming to Verizon Wireless. The webpage suggest for Verizon subscribers to get the HTC Droid Incredible instead. Since the HTC Droid Incredible has a lot of the same features as the Nexus One.  I just feel sorry for all the Verizon subscribers who held out waiting for the Nexus One just to be disappointed that it’s not coming out. Below is the official statement from Google:

We won't be selling a Nexus One with Verizon, and this is a reflection of the amazing innovation happening across the open Android ecosystem. Verizon Wireless customers who want an Android phone with the power of the Nexus One can get the Droid Incredible by HTC.

I know Sprint has announced in a press release that the Nexus One is coming to their network. I just hope the same thing doesn’t happen to Sprint subscribers when the HTC Evo 4G becomes available. And between this and the 3G connectivity issues of the T-Mobile version of the Nexus One, it seems like Google could have put a little bit more thought into the Nexus One as far as test the device & marketing it. Since the handset has only sold 135,000 units so far. I guess that this show’s Google that people are not ready to buy a phone with out seeing it first.

Google stops working on the Nexus One's 3G issues

For all of the Nexus One owners out there you might want to contact HTC if you are having 3G issues with the handset. According to the Google Nexus One Support Forums, a Google employee has posted that Google is no longer working on the Nexus One’s 3G issues. The advice that Google is giving Nexus One owners is to change your location or the orientation of your phone. The Nexus One's 3G issues were partially blamed on T-Mobiles spotty 3G coverage. But after an over the air update went out by Google a Nexus One owner posted up a YouTube video showing the update doesn't fix the 3G issues. To view the Youtube video please go to the link in the related post.Well it seems like HTC is going have to do a recall of the handset, and I can see this keeping anyone from buying the Nexus One, including myself.  But I will defiantly keep the site updated on this problem and how it progresses.

Nexus One users still complaining about issues with the handset

Seems like owners of the Nexus One are still complaining to Google about issues with the handset. Now everyone already knows about the 3G issues the Nexus One has with T-Mobile’s 3G network. But the owners are complaining about a lot more issues then just 3G connectivity. Below is a list of the issues with the Nexus One on Google's Support forums.

1) 3G-connectivity issue

2) Touch Screen unresponsiveness/sensing incorrect input

3) Unresponsive trackball

4) WIFI connectivity issue

5) Lock button response issue

6) Proximity sensor sensitivity issue

7) Ambient light sensor issue

8)Bluetooth issues: fails to operate; inadequate volume; intermittent failure to accept commands

9) Speaker: horrible sound quality

10) Ringer: insufficient volume

11) Earpiece: insufficient volume

12) Headset connector: headphones cord activates pause or other functions

13) Manufacturer says phone cannot go in pocket

14) Phone mutes when calling people and can only be unmuted by turning mute on then off!

15) Missed call notification trackball does not flash

That’s a lot of complaints I hope Google can resolve some of the issues especially the 3G & Wi-Fi issues, which is what’s  keeping me from buying a Nexus One. So tell me have you had any of the issues listed with your Nexus One?

Nexus One coming to Sprint

It seems that Google’s Nexus One is going to be on all carriers including Sprints Network. According to a tweet from Sprints Twitter account that stated: Nexus One from Google coming to Sprint; Availability Date Announced Soon”. The tweet links off to the press release for the Nexus One coming to Sprint.  It seems that the Sprint version of the Nexus One will have the $69.99 a month 450 minutes with Any Mobile, Anytime plan with everything data. The handset will be sold through Google’s own online store and will not be sold in retail stores. The Nexus One for Sprint seems to be exactly the same as all the other carriers’ versions of the Nexus One.  Below is the full press release:

Nexus One from Google Coming to Sprint; Availability Date Announced Soon
Nexus One(TM) is planned for the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network with twice the network coverage of AT&T and ten times the network coverage of T-Mobile, both by square miles; Expands Sprint's Android(TM) portfolio
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Mar 17, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Nexus One, the first wireless phone sold through Google(TM)'s web store, is planned for Sprint's 3G Mobile Broadband Network. "While a pricing plan has not yet been determined for Nexus One, we are confident that it will be consistent with Sprint's commitment to deliver more value than our competitors and keep pricing simple," Adib said. "Right now, our Sprint Everything Data 450 plan with Any Mobile, Anytime(SM) gives customers unlimited calling with any mobile phone in America, unlimited text and unlimited Web for just $69.99 per month - the same price AT&T and Verizon charge for just unlimited talk.
