One thing that makes the iPhone so popular is the vast array of accessories you can buy for it: bumper cases, docking ports, car accessories and even a toy gun which you can slot the iPhone into to play games with.
Seems like every cellular carrier is working on their LTE network, and AT&T is no exception. AT&T announced yesterday that they would launch their 4G LTE network in more markets. Their 4G LTE network will be available in New York City, Austin, Chapel Hill , Los Angeles, Oakland, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh , San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose. The cellular company already launched their 4G LTE in 15 markets over 2011, and currently offers customers five 4G LTE devices which are the HTC Vivid, Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and the LG Nitro HD smartphone as well as the HTC Jetstream and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablets. AT&T current uses both HSPA+ and LTE cellular technologies. The cellular company’s network currently cover 284 million people, and are expected to fully roll out their 4G LTE network by the end of 2013.
While dual-core smartphone maybe all the rage now, that may change in the near future.
According to PocketNow.com HTC maybe working on a quad-core smartphone that’s rumored to be called the HTC Edge. The HTC Edge is expected to have a 4.7-inch screen with 720p resolution, 1 GB of RAM and an 8.0-megapixel camera. The handset is expected to have a 1.5GHz quad-core processor which is said to be manufactured by NVidia and could be NVidia’s upcoming Tegra 3 processor. As far as availability goes the HTC Edge is rumored to be available during the first or second quarter of 2012, as more information becomes available I will let all of you know.
While Google announced Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich last month during Samsung’s announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Other Android manufactures such as HTC have remained silent on which, handsets will get the update and when. Well, today that all changed, HTC announced on their Facebookpage which US handsets will get the update. The HTC Sensation XL, HTC Sensation XE, HTC Rezound, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G and the HTC Amaze 4G are expected to be update to Android 4.0 in early 2012. HTC also stated that they go through their carrier partners. HTC also stated that they are assessing their product portfolio for future upgrades.
Android 4.0 is going to have an improved user interface, notification bar,improved multitasking and an improved voice search.
Now, judging by the statement on HTC’s Facebook page, the company could announce other handsets to be update to Android 4.0. Seems that recently released HTC handsets will be upgraded. This leaves out a lot of HTC Android owners that may own other HTC Android handsets such as the T-Mobile G2.
