Android Tablets at CES.

Well, it seems at CES theirs a few Android based tablets that were shown off. And it’s seems like a few companies Notion Ink Adam, Compal, MSI; Marvell & Dell are putting a lot of faith in the Android operating system. Now this is the International Consumer Electronics Show so you may not have heard of the other companies but one company am sure everyone knows of is Dell. Who showed off the Dell Mini 5, a concept product that has a 5- inch screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & supports multitouch. The Dell Mini 5 is capable of making phone calls but on a 5-inch screen, I think it would be a little too big to hold up to your ear.

Compal’sTegra 2 is a concept Android based tablet shown by an NVIDIA representative. The Compal Tegra 2 is featuring the NVIDEA Tegra 2 mobile web processor. The Compal Tegra 2 will have a 7-inch screen, running Android 2.0,Wi-Fi, a SIM card slot, a HDMI out port and supports full HD video.

Another company that is showed off an Android tablet device is Notion Ink Adam with their Notion Ink Adam Qi, which is a tablet and an e-reader in one. The Notion Ink Adam Qi will run Android 2.0, 10.1-inch LCD screen and will have NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor.

MSI also introduced their tablet/eReader, a company that is mostly known for making netbooks showed off their MSI Harmony. The MSI Harmony will be running Android 2.1 and that’s all I could find on the specifications of the device.

Marvell a company that I have never even heard of, has had a lot of Android based products that they have worked on one being the Dell Mini 3i. Apparently the company is not bringing their tablet to consumers their just going to let another company buy into their product. Their Android based table dubbed the Marvell Multimedia Tablet, although I couldn’t find any tech specifications of this product.

It’s nice to see Android going into the eReader and tablet market since this is the CES am sure some of these products are concepts and some may or may not come to the market. So feel free to sign off in the comments on what you think of the Android based tablets and E-readers.
