The Galaxy Ace has been one of Samsung's most popular smartphones in recent years, offering a smaller, streamlined version of its top Android Galaxy phones and one of its most popular mobile phone deals. It has also been one of the main devices sitting in the docks, accused by Apple of being a rip off of its iPhone range (along with the Galaxy S and Galaxy S2). Samsung is now launching a sequel to this phone, the Galaxy Ace Plus, which is once again receiving accusations of copying from Apple and its hordes of loyal followers.

Apple iPhone 4S Not As Durable As The Samsung Galaxy S II

I found this video on Google+ today that compared the Apple iPhone 4s to the Samsung Galaxy S II in terms of durability. A company called SquareTrade that sells iPhones and Android handsets decided to drop each handset from the waist and shoulder height and than facedown. Well from looking at the video the iPhone 4S doesn't handle being dropped on the concrete to well, having a cracked shell to a cracked screen. While the Samsung Galaxy S II casing was slightly damaged and the screen was unphased by each of the drops. Now, since the Samsung Galaxy S II's screen is made using Gorilla Glass which is a extremely scratch resistant. While the iPhone 4S screen is not made of this material, which would explain, the handset screen breaking when being dropped face down. 

One vs. Many - A Hype Story

 

Leading up to the latest iPhone keynote I began asking myself "Why is there all this hype for the iPhone? It's not as good as *insert Android phone here*" And it's true once you break things down (preference for iOS aside). The iPhone isn't as powerful as some of the flagship Android powered phones out there. It doesn't have 4G or Swype (which is one of my personal favorite features). And no widgets?! So why all the hype? Well, that may very well lie in the fact that there are numerous "flagship Android powered phones."
