Open GL ES 2.0 could bring better games to Android

Google Game Developers Conference started today and one of the announcements is going to be OpenGL ES 2.0 for Android NDK (r3).  This will allow for game developers to have greater control over a program for the hardware and be able to create more robust games. So Android game developers what do you think of have OpenGL ES 2.0 in Android? And what kind of games do you think will come out of this ?

Nexus One could come to Verizon on March 23rd.

Since a CDMA version of the Nexus One has passed the FCC. The guys over at androidcentral.com website has gotten some more information on it. According to a anonymous Google worker that stated:

The Nexus One, originally released on T-Mobile in January, has passed FCC inspection for use on Verizon's CDMA network and according to a Google worker who wishes to remain anonymous it will be made available on March 23.

This could be a believable date since Google is adding Verizon to the Nexus One’s website in the spring. So what do you think are you going to get the Nexus One when it comes to Verizon?

Nexus One Passes the FCC for Verizon & Sprint's Network.

Google announce the Nexus One back in January, a couple of days ago a CDMA version of the Nexus One passed the FCC with frequencies for both Sprints Network & Verizon’s Network.  The CDMA Nexus One will have a 3.7-inch AMOLED touch screen & a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.  Now my best guess would be that it’s coming to Verizon’s Network since Google did mention the company in their plans to have a phone sold through Google’s phone website.

All US Android handsets could get Android 2.1

First off I do want to apologize to my readers I recently got a job and I haven’t been able to keep up with all the latest tech news. According to androidandme’s website all the Android handsets in the USA could be getting updated to Android 2.1, now this is from an anonymous source. Not all the handsets will have the same version that is currently running on the Nexus One.  Each handset may be missing features such as live wallpaper, but the handsets will still have Android 2.1 in the firmware settings. Also some of the handset will need to be wiped in order to update to Android 2.1, except for the Motorola Droid since it’s currently running Android 2.0.1.  The update would be going through a PC-based install in order to upgrade to Android 2.1. By doing a PC-based installed this would backup the phone during the update and keep from damaging the phone and making it unusable. The Android 2.1 update is scheduled the second quarter of 2010; Sprint’s Android handsets are going to be in early second quarter, G1 & Mytouch 3G users are supposed to be the first set handsets to get the update.

Well if this is true this would be great I know that G1 is still a fairly popular handset along with the Mytouch 3G.  But am still a little skeptical on how they would have Android 2.1 on the G1, since it’s has such limited memory. I know the new version of the Mytouch 3G has more memory and am sure Android 2.1 has a lot to do with it.  Well tell me what to do you think of this rumored update?
