Motorola Announces The Motorola Defy Mini And Motoluxe Smartphones
Motorola announced two new smartphones last week the Motoluxe and the Motorola Defy Mini.
The Motorola Motoluxe seems to have a stylish thin design. The handset will run Android 2.3(Gingerbread), it will also have a 4.0-inch touchscreen, an 800MHz processor, 3.5-mm headphone jack, Bluetooth, 512MB of RAM, 1GB ROM, front-facing VGA camera, Wi-Fi and GPS.
The Motorola Motoluxe will feature a new user interface called MotoSwitch. This new user interface allows quick access to applications. MotoSwitch also learns who you talk to and which applications you use the most and keeps them in the center of the home screen. Another feature of the MotoSwitch user interface is “Social Graph” this will give users easy access to their social media networks. With “Activity Graph” users will be able to easily access their most recently used applications. For the music lovers MotoSwitch features “Music Now” which allows user to play their music files.
The Motorola Motoluxe will have a 1400 MAH battery that gives users up to 6.5 hours of talk time. The handset will be available in both black and white, and is expected to be a low-cost handset.
Another handset that was announced last week is the Motorola Defy Mini. The handset seems to be marketed toward consumers that tend to drop there smartphones. The device will come with 3.2-inch Corning Gorilla Glass touch screen which will keep the handset from being scratched and be much more durable. Aside from the display the handset will come with a 600MHz processor, a 3.5-mm headphone jack, front-facing VGA camera, 3.0-megapixel rear-facing camera, 512MB of RAM, 512 of ROM, microSD card slot which is expandable to 32 GB, Wi-Fi and GPS. Much like the Motoluxe the Motorola Defy Mini will run Android 2.3(Gingerbread).
As far as pricing and availability goes both handsets are currently available in China, and will be available in Latin America, Europe and Greater China in February. At the moment a North American launch has not been announced, but both of the handsets will be shown during the Consumer Electronics Show next week.
