Sony Xperia Ion Coming To AT&T's 4G LTE Network
During CES Sony announced their latest Xperia handset the Sony Xperia Ion for AT&T.
The Sony Xperia Ion is the first handset from Sony to support AT&T’s 4G LTE network. By having support for AT&T’s 4G LTE network this will give consumers faster data speeds when downloading applications or browsing the web. The handset will also have a 4.6-inch HD touch screen, a 12.0-megapixel rear-facing camera, and HD rear-facing camcorder at 1080p, HD front-facing camcorder at 720p, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 16GB of flash memory.
Although the Sony Xperia Ion will launch with Android 2.3(Gingerbread), and not Android 4.0 like some of the other Android based handsets that were announced during CES. In terms of features the Sony Xperia Ion has plenty of them on of them being access to Sony’s Entertainment Network. This will give users access to “Music Unlimited” were users can download music from a catalogue of up to 12 million songs. The handset will also have access to “Video Unlimited” which gives consumer’s access to TV shows and movies. The Xperia Ion is PlayStation Certified this gives users the ability to play games on their handset.
Users will be able to stream their HD videos and photos through DLNA, HDMI or Bravia Sync to their Bravia TV’s, HDMI TV’s or DLNA compatible devices. At the moment the Sony Xperia Ion will launch in the second quarter of 2012, pricing has yet to be announced.
