Verizon Announces Droid 4 And Droid Razar Maxx
Verizon Wireless has made the name Droid almost synonymous with their company when it comes to Android handsets, and at this years CES Verizon announced more Droid phones the Motorola Droid 4, Droid Razar Maxx and the Droid Razar in purple.
The Motorola Droid 4 seems to be an extremely thin phone measuring in at half and inch thick. The handset will have a 1.2GHz processor, 4G LTE support, 1GB of RAM, an 8.0-megapixel camera, HD camcorder at 1080p, 16GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for expandability to 32GB and a 4.0-inch HD touchscreen.
The Motorola Droid 4 will feature a five-row QWERTY keyboard. Aside from the handsets technical specifications it does have a lot of features for consumers such as “MotoCast” this will allow consumers to remotely access their pictures, video and music from their computer. Another features is called “Smart Action” which will automate your task which is integrated with FireFox for web browsing. The device also allows users to mirror their video and pictures to an HDTV. If you like to share your cellular data connection with other devices, than you’ll be happy to know that the handset allows you to share your internet with up to eight Wi-Fi devices.
The Motorola Droid 4 will come with Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread), and will be upgraded to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The handset is expected to be available in the coming weeks.

The Motorola Droid Razar Maxx will come with an 8.0-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, front-facing HD camcorder at 720p, HD camcorder at 1080p, 32GB of internal memory, a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor, 16GB memory, Wi-Fi and GPS.
The Motorola Droid Razar Maxx comes with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). If you’re worried about damaging your smartphone the handset is made with DuPont KEVLAR fiber and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen, which will help prevent scratches and scrape on the handset when dropped. The handset also comes with Quick Office, which will allow users to create, view and edits Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. It also comes with GoToMeeting which will allow consumers to group video chat with other users through their handset. The main selling point of this handset would be it’s battery life which is said to last up to 21.5 hours of talk time.
At the moment the Motorola Droid Razar Maxx availability has not been announced, but it will cost $299.99 with a two-year contract.
The cellular company also announced the Motorola Droid Razar in purple. The handset will have 16GB of internal memory, an 8.0-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera with HD video at 720p, a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor, Wi-Fi and GPS.
The handset will also feature GoToMeeting and QuickOffice. The handset will also have support for Verizon Wireless 4GLTE network. The handset will come with Android 2.3.5(Gingerbread) and is upgradable to Android 4.0. The handset will cost $199.99 with a two-year contract.
If you are wondering what Motorola Droid devices will be upgraded to Android 4.0, Verizon did announce that the Droid Xyboard tablets would be upgraded to Android 4.0.

Taking DROID RAZR to the MAXX
The DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola will join the DROID family for customers who want all the great features of the DROID RAZR, but need a smartphone that overachieves. DROID RAZR MAXX is designed for customers who spend their days and nights multi-tasking. This smartphone is a marathon runner with enough endurance to let customers talk on the phone for more than 21 hours straight on a single charge. It’s the longest-lasting smartphone on the block, and at just 8.99 mm, the device is still impossibly thin. The DROID RAZR MAXX comes equipped with 32 GB of total memory and will be $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.
The DROID Family by Motorola Complete with Tablets
The DROID family also includes the two recently launched DROID XYBOARD tablets by Motorola. Both boast the blazing speeds of Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network and the power of dual-core 1.2 GHz processors for lightning-fast Web browsing and multi-tasking. Customers can select what size XYBOARD they want to command by choosing either the 10.1-inch or 8.2-inch DROID.
Ice Cream Sandwich Update
DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX are powered by the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network and run on Android™ 2.3.5 Gingerbread, to be upgraded to Android™ 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Customers that purchase a DROID RAZR or DROID RAZR MAXX will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan beginning at $39.99 monthly access and a smartphone data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data. Customers that purchase a DROID XYBOARD tablet will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband data plan starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data.
