There have been a lot of rumors regarding the next version of the Mytouch 3G well apparently they are true. T-Mobile is refreshing the original Mytouch 3G the device looks just like the Mytouch 3G Fender LE just with out the wood grain finish look. The new version of the Mytouch 3G will have a 3.5 mm headphone jack and 288 MB of RAM instead of 192, which is what the original Mytouch 3G has. The new version of the Mytouch 3G will ships with Google Android 1.6, T-Mobile is going to upgrade it to Google Android 2.1 this spring.  There is still no word on how much the handset will cost but there are rumors suggesting the release date is going to be February 10^th.

Well, this would make sense since T-Mobile did drop the price of the original Mytouch 3G to $149. By dropping the price they could be trying to get rid of all the old hardware to make room for the new version of the Mytouch 3G. And since the Mytouch 3G is supposed to get Google Android 2.1, having more RAM would allow Android 2.1 to run on the device better.
